Edinburgh Acrobatics Festival

26th - 28th September 2025

I can't believe we're doing it all again a second time! The second edition of the Edinburgh Acrobatics Festival will follow a similar structure to the first edition, except this time it's going to be even better! And yes, I have already asked for the venue to be warmer than last year. This event is a fantastic opportunity for those of us in Scotland who usually have to travel far for a large scale acrobatics meet up. The teaching lineup will showcase some local Scottish acrobatic talent and you can look forward to workshops from teachers from slightly further afield who wouldn't normally be seen out in the wild in Scotland.

This will link you to the timetable from last year which will give you a very good idea of what you can expect from this year's workshops. The plan is to offer 8 taught workshops over the three days with a choice of four workshops at each timetabled workshop slot. There will be at least one beginner workshop running throughout to ensure that even those without a strong acrobatic practice feel welcome at all times. There will also be one solo workshop on offer at all times so that you can work on your handstands and solo acrobatics as well. There will also be timetabled jams at the end of each day as well as a led warm up and cool down.

The Venue

All three days will be in the same place in Meadowbank Sports Centre, London Rd, Edinburgh EH7 6AE

Date and times - 26th-28th of September 2025

Friday 1pm - 9pm

Saturday 10am - 7pm

Sunday 10am - 7pm

Catering

The event will not be catered, but there is a large Sainsbury's and Lidl a short walk away. The venue has its own cafeteria and there are also a variety of cafes and restaurants surrounding the venue. There will be a 1h15 lunch break on Saturday and Sunday.

Ticket Prices

Tickets cost £150 in early bird and £170 thereafter. Early bird ends on the 1st of June. There is no possibility to buy day tickets yet. If there are still tickets available at the end of August, day tickets will go on sale at that point.

Refunds

If you buy a ticket and then subsequently decide not to attend for whatever reason, you can either transfer your ticket, or request a full refund minus a £10 admin fee until the 15th of August. After that you will no longer be able to be refunded, but can still transfer your ticket to someone else. If you do choose to transfer your ticket, you must inform me by email of the name change. Payments will be made to a self-employed account held by Eric Munday (me, the organiser helloooo). Once you have completed this form, an email will be sent to you containing payment information. I will also share a spreadsheet I created to help you coordinate lifts and accommodation.

All practice of acrobatics involves some risk. We will do everything we can to make sure the training is as safe as possible. You should follow the instructions given by coaches/experienced acrobats and always make sure to ask if something is not clear or comfortable for you. By being clear about what is expected of our participants, we intend to establish a safe environment.

Teachers

Adam Wright
After bringing joy to everyone they came into contact with at last year's festival, what choice did we have other than to bring Adam back for more handstanding, stretching, solo acrobatics and laughing? In their own words, Adam is a Scottish, neurodivergent, queer circus artist. Their multifaceted knowledge of circus arts has brought them to distant shores and they've worked with too many wonderful people and companies to name. Within circus, teaching and life they like to get good enough at something to make it joyous, weird and very much their own.

Organiser

I have been practising acro since I moved to Edinburgh in 2019 and fell in love with the community. So much so that I now do acro and handstands for a living here and want the local circus community to flourish as much as possible. This is a big driving motivation behind organising this convention. I really want to show all my wonderful students at @leithacrobatics what an amazing experience an acro convention can be. I would also love to show everyone else that our small community here is thriving and worth visiting!
